Test request or test record: which do I need?
Last Updated: 09/24/2026
A test request orders a test that has not happened yet. A test record holds a test that already took place, with its collection details and result.
| You want to | Use |
|---|---|
| Send an employee for a test | New Test Request |
| Enter a test done at a site outside Med-Stop | New Test Record |
| See a result for a test done through Med-Stop | Employees > Tests |
| Test an employee selected for random testing | Create Request from the selection |
Do not create a test record for a test done at a Med-Stop location or on a Med-Stop custody form; it is added automatically, and a manual entry creates a duplicate. Do not create a new record because a result is still pending.
